![]() ![]() ![]() I’m really proud of this story and the characters that I’ve created and I hope everyone else loves it as much as both my beta’s and I do. The story is based around Luca and Serena, both are from mob families but after the murder of her parents Serena runs away, changing her name to Brandy she tries to escape her past not realising her past is looking for her, that’s where Luca comes in. What can I say about Aphrodite’s Fire? Well it is in essence a romance, all be it a dark, twisted, suspenseful thriller with some truly dark moments. They’ve had to leave their fairy tale lands, moving into our world to escape a great evil that is corrupting their own. Legends In Exile, as the title suggests, sees these characters living in modern New York. ![]() I confess, I came to Fables very late, after being given Legends In Exile as a gift three or four years ago, and have only read four of the twenty or so volumes that now compromise the entire collection. Released by DC’s Vertigo imprint, it swiftly joined the likes of Hellblazer (featuring occult detective John Constantine) and Neil Gaiman’s Sandman as one of the publisher’s must read comics. Legends In Exile is the first graphic novel of the series, collecting the first five individual issues of Fables, which premiered in 2002. Fables, written by Bill Willingham, told the tale of our favourite fairy tale characters – Snow White, Rose Red, The Big Bad Wolf, Cinderella, to name just a few – in Fabletown, a borough of New York. Inspired by the post about graphic novels and fantasy from a few weeks ago, I thought it would be good to revisit the beginnings of a series I started reading a while back, one which came to an end last year. ![]() ![]() To let their demons loose on me.īut maybe these Kings of Chaos have let my pretty face fool them.īecause I'm just as vicious as they are. On the other hand, there’s Serene-Heart-in-the-Chaos-of-Battle, an elven warrior who is more beautiful than anyone Elliot has ever seen, and then there’s her human friend Luke: sunny, blond, and annoyingly likeable.
